SP Business Suite Version 11 is now available with new features that unify SharePoint and Office 365
Here at SP Marketplace, we are excited to announce Version 11 of our SharePoint Portal and application solutions. With Version 11, SP Marketplace is taking the first major steps in unifying our SharePoint Portals with Office 365 Groups, OneDrive, Planner, and more. Many of our customers are moving forward to take advantage of these new Office 365 services in the next year.
Strategically, Microsoft is moving Office 365 and SharePoint to support a Digital Workplace concept, which provides a central point and common user experience for employees to collaborate, communicate, and perform their work. Our portal structure in the context of customer organizations is a key part of unifying Office 365 and SharePoint into the workplace.
In support of this direction, Version 11 of our Suite of products has been renamed from SP Business Suite to SP Digital Workplace Suite. A main theme of Version 11 across all modules is to add a “Team Collaboration” set of promoted links to each department-oriented module.
On the staff home page of modules like IT, HR, or Facilities, our Office 365 and SharePoint Online customers now have icons to link to related Office 365 Group, OneDrive, Discussions, Calendars, and Planner. This brings together the operational department portal with Office 365 group Collaboration. Additionally, SP Marketplace has replaced the SharePoint portal dashboards with Power BI dashboards. Non-Office 365 accounts will be removed at the time of installation.
Other changes across all SP Marketplace products are designed to make administration, usability, and online documentation easier. Several products have had minor to significant feature changes:
Version 11 is really the first step toward an integrated Digital Workplace approach versus just SharePoint. With five years in business, SP Marketplace has kept true to its “native” no-code approach and keeping it 100% customizable by business power users.
Going forward as the SharePoint new look and feel is ready for prime time, we will take advantage of that as well.
